The L4s turned up at Newmarket raring to prove ourselves we had sadly lost to them early in the season - although it was a close call getting the whole team there, with Claudia looking at the wrong entry on Spond and almost driving to Ely, and Becky missing the last train from London the night before, and having to get a rail replacement bus from Royston to make it in time!

We started very strong, with some lovely passes between the forwards, feeding the ball to Amy who weaved around the Newmarket defence to score not once, not twice, but three times in the first 11 minutes of the game!

Sadly, our subs bench was looking more and more like an injury bench, with first Hannah, then Phoebe off for injury

While off, Hannah mistook Ellie's husband for Amy's dad, earning her LOM

Newmarket soon managed to break and score, but soon after, a reverse push from Emily S got us to a solid halftime score of 4-1

The second half saw some great defensive play with Eloise skillfully controlling the ball away from an attacker on the baseline. Becky and Phoebe's  amazing runs and passing won them both some POM votes, with Becky winning POM (and also scoring!) Their mid performance also led to lots more goals, with a hattrick for Emily, 2 from Indi and 1 more from Amy (and also saw Kea vy for LOM by accidentally taking Newmarket's pushbacks twice)!

Another highlight - Becky confidently picking up balls that belonged to the team that played after, and not hearing them when they asked for them back!

All in all, a lovely way to finish for Christmas - see you all in the new year!
